Mr Fox!

We have a fox problem! A young dog fox has strayed onto our resident fox’s’ territory and making a nuisance of himself. He has already had 6 of my laying hens only last week and the other night came for another look round. The dog was barking furiously at 3 in the morning so we let him out and he took off after the fox, you would have thought that would keep him away but he returned again. This time hubby went out with the dog and found the stray fox and the resident one scrapping in the paddock, they make quite a racket when they are fighting for thier rights to have my hens for dinner!

Hello world!

Here it is!

My very first step into the world of blogging. Friesland Farm is situated in Oxfordshire, with only 5 acres we try to pack a lot in. Primarily we are a livery yard and have stabling for 6 horses on a DIY or holiday basis. We also grow our own veg, fruit and nuts and keep hens, ducks, geese, during the spring and summer we keep a few lambs and last year a couple of pigs called Bob and Marley!

We have only been here 3 years but have already had quite a few adventures so I thought it was about time to start sharing some of them with everyone. As events evolved, I tried keeping a written journal but everytime I wrote in it some other disaster would befall us, so I came to the conclusion that it was unlucky and hope the blog does not turn out to be the same, you will soon know if it does as it will be and end to my ramblings!!
